This water hammer test was carried out simultaneously at the three major pumping stations and related pipelines of the Pearl River Delta Water Resources Allocation Project: Liyuzhou, Gaoxinsha and Luotian. The total length from Liyuzhou Pumping Station to Gaoxinsha Reservoir is about 41 kilometers. It is a double-line 4.8-meter steel pipe-lined tunnel with a designed water delivery flow of 80 cubic meters per second. The total length from Gaoxinsha Pumping Station to Shaxi High Level Pool is about 28 kilometers. The single-line 6.4-meter prestressed-lined tunnel has a designed water delivery flow of 60 cubic meters per second. The total length from Luotian Pumping Station to Gongming Reservoir is about 11.9 kilometers. It is a single-line 4.8-meter steel pipe-lined and prestressed-lined combined tunnel. In order to fill this gap in the industry and effectively deal with the water hammer effect, the Pearl River Delta Water Resources Allocation Project conducted full demonstration and scientific judgment on this water hammer test, and formulated a thorough test plan.
In order to ensure the safe advancement of the water hammer test, the main leaders of the Pearl River Delta Water Supply Company, a subsidiary of Guangdong Holding Group, took command and made careful arrangements, clarified the test principles, reviewed the test plan, and invited industry experts The test plan was discussed repeatedly, and safety and technical briefings were given to those participating in the test before the test; in order to fully ensure the safety and controllability of the test process, a professional team was stationed at the test site, calculating and optimizing to ensure that every test All are supported by theoretical predictions and data, so that they are well-informed, safe and controllable.
After four days of intense water hammer testing, the three major pumping stations of the Pearl River Delta Water Resources Allocation Project have successively completed 80 cubic meters/second, 60 cubic meters/second, and 30 cubic meters/second. In the accident shutdown test under the corresponding design flow rate in seconds, the pressure regulating tower of the Gaoxinsha Pumping Station also produced a short-term overflow according to the design working conditions. The entire test process was smooth, orderly, safe and controllable, and achieved the expected results, and accumulated test data. It provides strong support to further ensure the safe operation of engineering pump stations, pressure regulating facilities and water delivery systems, and accumulates valuable experience for the development of the industry.
